Committees

As a member of SIAR, you are welcome and encouraged to participate in any of our eight committees.  The committees range from advisory, to education, to community outreach, to fundraising, and networking events.  Membership is required to attend and/or participate in any of the SIAR committees.

 

Broker Policy Advisory Committee

Committee Chair:  Kevin Eastridge

 

The Broker Policy Advisory Committee shall make recommendations to the Board of Directors.  This committee allows Broker-Owners to voice their opinions and concerns to the SIAR Board of Directors.

Membership with SIAR is a requirement for membership/participation in the "Broker Policy Advisory Committee".

 

Community Outreach Committee

Committee Chair:  Marcia Helfrich

 

The purpose of the Community Outreach Committee is to create events that allow our members to serve the community, such as:  projects at the zoo, Habitat Homes, Easter Seals, run/walks for cures, etc.  This committee shares its information by providing the Association Office with minutes of all of its meetings.

Education/Membership Committee

The purpose of the Education/Membership Committee is to create opportunities for the education of our membership.  This includes New Member Orientation, Continuing Education, and special educational offerings.  This committee shares its information by providing the Association Office with minutes of all its meetings.  Also...

  1. Assist in the retention, satisfaction, and morale of the current membership.  
  2. Recruit members (Associates and Affiliates).  
  3. Communicate with the members regarding membership issues, concerns, events.  
  4. Provide a channel for the members to put forward their ideas and suggestions.  
  5. Develop and maintain a membership benefit program.  
  6. Identify under-represented segments.  
  7. Identify opportunities for community opportunities and partnerships.  
  8. Evaluate future trends, access and monitor membership expectations and satisfaction.  
  9. Create (or identify) information and marketing items, strategies and campaigns.

Membership with SIAR is a requirement for membership/participation in the "Education/Membership Committee".

 

Programs Committee

The purpose of the Programs Committee is to plan for the regular and special meetings of the membership, including finding the venue, time, and the format that the committee deems best.  This committee shares its information by providing the Association Office with minutes of all its meetings.

Membership with SIAR is a requirement for membership/participation in the "Programs Committee".

 

Bob Schulz Memorial REALTOR® Benefit Golf Outing Committee

Annually, Southwest Indiana Association of REALTORS® holds a Realtor Benefit Golf outing with the proceeds given to charities within our community. Thanks to our golfers and event sponsors, since 2000, the Southwest Indiana Association of REALTORS® has donated over $217,000 to local charities.

“This is a great way to give back to the community”; Bob Schulz, Southwest Indiana Association of Realtors, Realtors Benefit Golf Outing Chairman for 31 years.

RLAT Committee

Committee Chair:  Bob Reid

 

The purpose of the Realtor, Lender, Appraiser, Title Company committee is to create a monthly forum in which issues that affect these disciplines can be discussed, and communication between these disciplines can be enhanced.  This committee shares its information by providing the Associate office with minutes of all its meetings.

Membership with SIAR is a requirement for membership/participation in the "RLAT Committee".

 

RPAC Fundraising Committee

Committee Chair:  Tim O'Brien

 

The purpose of the REALTOR® Political Action Committee Fundraising Committee is to raise funds for RPAC, by direct solicitation of our membership, and by planning events whereby our members can make contributions to RPAC.  This committee shares its information by providing the Association Office with minutes of all its meetings.

Young Professionals Network (YPN)

Committee Chair:  Tim O'Brien

Vice-Committee Chair:  Andrea Mileham

 

YPN Mission Statement:

YPN helps young real estate professionals excel in their careers by giving them the tools and encouragement to become involved in four core areas:

  • REALTOR® associations. Attend REALTOR® conferences and pursue leadership roles with their local, state, and national association.
  • Real estate industry. Take an active role in policy discussions and advocacy issues; be informed about the latest industry news and trends.
  • Peers. Network and learn from one another by attending events, participating in online communication, and seeking out mentoring opportunities.
  • Community. Become exceptional members of their community by demonstrating a high level of REALTOR® professionalism and volunteering for causes they feel passionate about.

 

Membership with SIAR is a requirement for membership/participation in the "YPN".
